Ensuring every student receives the Mahtomedi experience.
Thank you for stopping by!
I'm Erica Engelbert-Hensel, a proud parent to my daughter beginning kindergarten at Wildwood Elementary this fall. I moved to Willernie from Roseville with my husband Shawn in 2019, and have been working directly with the Mahtomedi community for over 7 years. With my communications background, and a long-term invested interest in our schools, I am ecstatic to continue serving the families of our district.

My Promises
Academic Excellence
Maintaining the excellence & reputation of our incredible district will always be my top priority. I promise to push for top-notch learning curriculums that build confidence, support interests, and ensures students are prepared for a successful future.
Community Trust
After moving to the district in 2019, I quickly learned how much pride our community has in our schools. I promise to work hard to uphold the dignity of our district and serve our district with tenacity.
Invested Interest
As a proud parent of a new Zephyr, the success of the next generation is incredibly important to me. I promise to invest in the future of all Mahtomedi students, and make sure our parents and staff feel heard and supported.

About Me
After graduating from Roseville High School in 2009, I received my Bachelors of Science in Communications from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls. While completing my degree, I served on numerous executive board positions and worked with the campus TV station. After working at a family-owned bank for six years, I decided to combine creativity with my passion for people and became an Advanced Practice Esthetician & Makeup Artist, and have never looked back!
My Husband Shawn and I were married in White Bear Lake in 2018, and fell in love with the Mahtomedi area while planning our wedding. After purchasing our first home in Willernie, I became part of the Jessie Tomme Salon, right in the heart of downtown Mahtomedi in 2019. Since then, I have had the absolute pleasure of getting to know the parents, students, and staff of our district. We welcomed our daughter Ruby in 2021, and all 3 of us are so excited to begin her journey at Wildwood Elementary this fall.
I believe that the building blocks of confidence, individuality, and success begin in early childhood. Hands-on learning, minimal screen-time, and daily reading have always been fundamental in our household. A vote for me is a vote for someone who will advocate for everyone in our district as I would my own daughter.
